We were inspected on 3rd and 4th December 2024 and are delighted that Holly Lodge Primary Academy was judged to have maintained its good standards and that the inspection recognised the collective efforts of the Kite team at Holly Lodge in ensuring the school continues to move from strength to strength.
We are incredibly proud that Ofsted recognised the warm, inclusive culture of our school, the strength of our curriculum, and the dedication of our staff. Most importantly, the report celebrates our wonderful children, whose enthusiasm, kindness and love of learning shine through every day.
Some of the highlights from the report include:
• Inclusive and welcoming school community where pupils enjoy attending school, feel safe, and build positive relationships with staff and peers.
• High expectations for all pupils, including those with SEND, which support strong behaviour, achievement and personal development.
• An ambitious and well-sequenced curriculum across all subjects, developed effectively in partnership with The Kite Academy Trust.
• Staff have excellent subject knowledge, enabling pupils to develop deep understanding and impressive recall of prior learning.
• High-quality teaching ensures misconceptions are identified and addressed quickly, helping pupils build knowledge securely and produce written work to a high standard across the curriculum.
• Pupils are confident and fluent readers, with staff delivering the phonics programme skilfully and providing effective support for those who need extra help.
• A pleasant and productive learning environment, where pupils are enthusiastic about their learning and settle quickly into lessons.
• Strong behaviour systems result in calm classrooms, harmonious social times and very little disruption to learning.
• High attendance supported by robust procedures and effective partnerships with families and external agencies.
• A rich programme of experiences, trips and leadership opportunities helps pupils become positive citizens who understand and respect others.
• Pupils learn how to stay physically and mentally healthy, keep safe online and prepare well for the next stage of their education.
• Staff reported that they enjoy working at Holly Lodge, value the collaborative culture and appreciate leaders' commitment to staff wellbeing.
