Our learning support assistants are Mrs Mann and Mrs Michaels.

What will you need in school?

Everyday you will need the following equipment in school:

- correct uniform and shoes

- a named water bottle (filled with water please)

- a named snack for break time (fruit or bread sticks)

- an art apron

Home learning in Year 3:

In the Juniors, you will be set home learning tasks each week for reading spelling, maths and times tables.

Reading

We expect you to read five times each week with an adult, who should sign your reading record.

Books will be sent home from school for you to read and discuss with an adult. Your adult should ask you at least three questions about your reading, each time you read. Re-read the book before you bring it back to school. It is your responsibility to change your reading books regularly.

Reading records should be brought to school every Friday, where they will be checked.

Spelling

Each week we will learn a new spelling pattern or rule.  Your spelling list will include words that fit the pattern or rule as well and key year 3 vocabulary.

Spellings are given out on a Tuesday and are tested the following Tuesday.

Maths

Maths home learning will always consolidate the class learning of the week.

Maths home learning is given out on a Friday and must be completed and brought back to school by the following Friday.

Times Tables Practice

You should practise your times tables for at least 10 minutes each day. We expect a minimum of 30 minutes per week. You can use Times Table Rock Stars or any other times table practise games.

If you were unable to attend the Multiplication Tables Check parent meeting on 18.11.21, please see the slides attached underneath and parent information from the DfE.
